Hauptaufgaben

The Head of Strategic Project Management is a senior executive to focus on internal projects and initiatives to support meet / exceed the company’s goals and objectives to enable future growth. He / she will enable the vision, mission, values, and enable change in complex, dynamic environments. This is a highly strategic and facilitative role that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role. As the CEO’s “right hand”, the role requires a highly resourceful individual with exceptional organizational and people skills, strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and strong analytical skills.

The Head of Strategic Project Management plans and directs all administrative, financial, and operational activities for the CEO. He /she organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for the CEO to facilitate efficient decision making and provides oversight and guidance to projects of high importance. The primary accountabilities include project management; leadership; communications; proactive identification of issues and support of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Meeting Preparation/Facilitation/Follow-Up:

Develop and confirm objectives for meetings and recommend participants and best approach

Attend meetings, capture major take-aways, and work with executive team to ensure follow up actions and results

Ensure appropriate and timely communication to participants
Monitor progress/achievement of next steps

Project Coordination:

Develop and maintain an inventory of critical path projects for the CEO in which his awareness and involvement is essential
Work with ELT to align their actions and communications in support of agreed upon goals; work with all staff to ensure that the CEO’s needs are conveyed, that progress is being made in a timely manner and that any demands on CEO’s schedule are understood and agreed upon
Ensure the ELT’s needs are conveyed to the CEO for consideration.
Be prepared to apprise the CEO of project status and variations from schedule or scope


Leadership of Special Projects:

Scope, plan and execute multiple, often quick-turnaround projects with minimal outside assistance
Present ideas for special projects to facilitate the Board of Directors and CEO’s objectives
Present findings to CEO, ELT and / or Board, as appropriate
If necessary, oversee transfer of the project to others within the organization

KPI Development and Reporting:

Develop a balanced scorecard to track global business performance
Present findings to CEO and ELT during regularly defined meetings
Initiate and drive follow-up projects to improve defined KPI’s

Communication:

Perform agreed upon work—including coordinating with others who might be involved
Prepare follow up correspondence for internal and external meetings, as directed by the CEO
Conduct fact checking-in support of all communications
Present timely work-in-progress updates to the CEO
Represent the CEO in meetings he cannot attend

Issues Identification:

Engage in root cause analysis of issues and opportunities to drive company performance

Develop solution-based approaches to addressing the problem or opportunity
Succinctly update the CEO on the issues, supported with facts and recommendations
Engage in coalition building in support of mitigation approaches

Anforderungsprofil

University degree in business or economics; MBA preferred
8-10 years of executive leadership experience in a global company
8-10 years of progressive management experience

Strong strategic/financial analytical skills

Results/action-orientation; project management skills
Entrepreneurial vision
Negotiation skills

Proven ability to operate in a complex, decentralized and geographically diverse organizational structure

Multicultural, savvy, goal-oriented, supportive, open, positive and inquisitive can-do attitude

Highly-developed communications skills (written/verbal) and in presentation settings


Outstanding level of ethics, integrity, diversity and trust

Able to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

Willingness and ability to travel internationally
