Develop & Champion a clear market access strategy in Germany
Understand the implications the portfolio will have on the wider healthcare environment and the impact the changing healthcare environment will have on the portfolio.
Identify the optimal pricing, reimbursement and commercial model for the product portfolio in the context of the wider health economy and reimbursement system at a national and sub-national/payer level.
Participate as a strong member of the German Leadership Team
Work in effective partnership with the EMEAC VAP team to identify and prioritize German requirements and align on overall strategy
Lead the development of the market access component of the Country Operational Plans.
Lead the Market Access team in delivering the Country long range and yearly tactical Plan
Work closely with the commercial teams to represent and champion the pricing and market access priorities.
Identify AMNOG Process-related and price negotiation hurdles to product launch and uptake. Propose and implement plans to address / overcome these barriers.
Collaborate with EMEAC Value, Access and Policy team to ensure alignment of local and Global market access priorities
Collaborate with aligned functions in Germany to maximize business performance and coordination of plans & activities
Participate in the EMEAC Value, Access and Policy Network to share and leverage insights and expertise
Work with the EMEAC team to ensure that value tools are customized appropriately when relevant for Germany (e.g. GVD, Budget Impact Models)
Ensure the needs of the German payers are fully considered in the development of the Global Value & Access Strategy and evidence gaps relevant for Germany are elevated in Global plans
Ensure the broad health economy decision making processes and influencers are fully understood throughout the organization, educate and empower the wider business teams to enhance engagement strategies
Identify local and national business stakeholders.
Lead the development and maintenance of constructive corporate relationships with selected key national policy-makers and budget-holders.
Ensure there is a clear non-clinical stakeholder influence map for the relevant disease areas
Oversee development of outreach and engagement plan for key payers and their influencers
Oversee development or adaptation of local payer toolkits (including payer product value materials)
Monitor Health Care Reforms & measures impacting Orphan drugs in terms of Market Access & Pricing. Anticipate the consequences in terms of Challenges & Opportunities.
Create and deploy impactful value propositions for all Products
Collaborate with Commercial teams to develop and iterate value propositions for each brand that are relevant, impactful and tailored to the variety of decision makers in the healthcare environment.
At least 8 years’ experience in managing a National Market Access function in Germany
Ideally additional experience in Public Affairs/Corporate Affairs/Health policy
Direct Experience in AMNOG Dossier submission and pricing negotiation.
Line management and people development experience.
Deep Understanding of German Healthcare System, stakeholders, processes and funding flows.
Strong background in specialty care. Expertise in orphan drugs preferred.
Proven leadership ability with demonstrated results through influence management
Proven negotiation skills
Fluent English and German
